Attenuators and Loopbacks
|
 |
Loopback Attenuators
Winchester's loopbacks and loopback attenuators are used for equipment
and lab testing/evaluation and are matched to the equipment
on which they will be used. Attenuated versions consider
all important optical parameters in order to meet both
loss and back reflection specifications.

 |
SFF
Loopback Attenuators
Winchester's SFF (Small Form Factor) loopbacks and loopback attenuators
are used for equipment and lab testing/ evaluation and
are matched to the equipment on which they will be used.
Attenuated versions consider all important optical parameters
in order to meet both loss and back reflection specifications.
|
 |
Patchcord
Attenuators
Winchester's patchcord style attenuators are available in both
simples and duplex designs and can be terminated with
any type of connector including SC, LC, FC, ST and more.
Attenuators can be manufactured with any loss value from
-3dB to -20dB. Patchcord lengths are typically 0.4 meters,
but can be made to customer specifications. Simplex style
attenuators can be used end-to-end or in a loopback format.
|
 |
NDF
loopback attenuators
Winchester's new NDF (neutral density filter) multimode loopback
attenuators drastically reduce the mode and wavelength
dependence typically seen in current multimode attenuators.
Launch conditions between VCSEL transceiver manufacturers
vary significantly. The NDF attenuator addresses this
issue easily and successfully.
|
 |
MT attenuators
Winchester's patented MT ferrule based NDF
attenuators offer a mode independent solution to your
multi-fiber attenuator requirements. Attenuated patchcords
are available for 50/125 and 62.5/125 um applications with
any customer specified loss level.

Breakout Cable Assemblies
Winchester's breakout cable assembly
products are designed for maximum density, easy fiber
routing, optimum insertion loss and return loss
performance, and quick installation. Manufacturing and
design capabilities include singlemode, multimode,
straight or angle polish and a wide array of connector
types.

PHDä
Connector System
The PHDä
connector system offers high performance, density and
serviceability in a flexible and scalable product
configuration. This
system overcomes the limitations of existing
multi-channel fiber optic products through a blending of
cost effective commodity optical components with proven
military-grade packaging solutions and accepts a large
variety of fiber types, including single, multimode and
even plastic fiber in a cost efficient 1.25mm based
terminus solution.

 |
Mode
Conditioning Patchcord
Winchester's mode conditioning patchcords are designed for longwave
(1310nm) Gigabit Ethernet applications over mulitmode
fiber. They consist of an offset connection of a single
mode fiber to a multimode fiber. There are two multimode
fibers on one end and one multimode and one singlemode
fiber of the other.

MTP® Connector Assemblies
Winchester's MTP® assemblies offer a reliable way to terminate
multiple fibers in a compact housing design. Assemblies
are offered with either ribbon fiber or ribbonized individual
fibers. AI can provide custom designed MTP® assemblies
for specific applications, including custom molded boots.
Multifiber ferrules are available with 4, 8, or 12 positions. Connectors
are available in male, female or
ferrule-only
versions which are keyed for proper insertion.
|
 |
MT-RJ
Connector Assemblies
At half the size of an SC duplex connector, Winchester's MT-RJ connector
assemblies provide significant space savings for network
interconnections, resulting in decreased system costs.
With two fibers in one ferrule and a familiar RJ style
latch, the MT-RJ is fast becoming and industry favorite.
The connector design drops easily into existing copper
network patch panel cutout for easy system upgrades. MT-RJ
connectors are available in male and female versions.
|
 |
LC
Connector Assemblies
Winchester's LC connector assemblies are a new standard in high-density
fiber optic connections. Half the size of industry standard
connectors, the LC provides duplex capacity in the space
of a current single connection. Winchester's LC connector's low
loss characteristics are especially desirable in today's
high speed network environment.
|
 |
ST®
Connector Assemblies
Winchester's ST® connector assemblies are available with multimode
or singlemode fiber cables. These low loss, low cost connectors
feature several ferrule options. As with most connectors,
the ST® can be terminated onto any type of cable and is
available with a 3mm or 900µm boot. Winchester's industry-standard
assemblies provide low insertion loss and back reflection.
|
 |
SC
Connector Assemblies
Winchester's SC connector assemblies are available with mulitmode
or singlemode cable and in simplex and duplex versions
that can be terminated onto any type of cable. Standard
assemblies provide low insertion loss and back reflection
in an industry standard package. Winchester's SC connectors provide
a pull-proof design with a free-floating ceramic ferrule
that meet both industry standards and customer defined
specifications.
|
 |
FC
Connector Assemblies
Winchester's FC connector assemblies are available with multimode
or singlemode fiber and with any type of cable. The FC
is most commonly used as a simplex cable or a PM (Polarization
Maintaining) cable assembly. Many types of test equipment
utilize an FC interface and AI manufactures hybrid assemblies
to meet specific customer requirements. Standard assemblies
provide low insertion loss and back reflection in an industry
standard package. AI/s FC connectors provide a keyed design
with a free-floating ceramic ferrule to meet standard
or customer defined specifications.

Fully
Rotatable 42o LC Boot
Winchester's fully rotatable 42 degree LC boot is designed to
greatly improve cable routing in dense cable management
applications. The
unique boot rotates a full 360 degrees without twisting
the fiber, eliminating the risk of fiber torsional
stress and its 42 degree angled design provides ease of
routing.
